Biden: Palestinians deserve ‘viable’ state

RAMALLAH, West Bank — Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday reassured his Palestinian hosts that they deserve a sustainable, independent state.
His displeasure over an Israeli plan to enlarge an east Jerusalem settlement also seemed on display as he warned against actions that “inflame tensions.”
The Israeli plans have overshadowed Biden’s visit, meant to promote a new round of U.S.-led negotiations, and drew Palestinian accusations that Israel is not serious about peace. Israel apologized for embarrassing Biden with the timing of its announcement, but made clear it had no intention of reversing its plan.
Capping a day of meetings with Palestinian leaders, Biden declared that Washington is committed to brokering a final peace deal — something that has eluded U.S. leaders for nearly two decades.
“The United States pledges to play an active as well as a sustainable role in these talks,” Biden said. He stressed the Palestinians deserve an independent state that is “viable and contiguous,” a clear message to Israel that the U.S. expects a broad withdrawal from the West Bank as part of a settlement. Palestinians contend that Jewish enclaves dotted across the West Bank would make it impossible for them to sustain a state.

Maddjack - you're definitely correct. However, I'm not sure he deserves as high a rating as 'fool'. This administration is just playing to the terrorist states (or anything resembling a 'state') just as Obama has done all along. How much more MUSLIM does he need to get before someone speaks up? Next stop - Iran. How will he kiss their behind?

You guys are funny and terribly misinformed.
Palestine existed long before Israel.
Jewish "settlers" came from all over Europe illegally to settle in what was then Palestine.
They had a terrorist organization of their own and killed hundreds of British soldiers and thousands of Palestinians in bombings and killings.
When they could no longer be kept out, the British gave up and more "settlers" flooded in, taking the Palestinians country away by force.
Now the Palestinians are considered to be the terrorists in their own country... isn't that ironic?
With the support of the American Gov't & Religionists pressure, the Jewish "settlers" have stolen the farm land of the Palestinians and branded them terrorists in their own land.
Their military has killed thousands at a rate of over 100 to 1.
Now the Israelis are building a wall to divide the land and Palestine into two pieces, taking the best for themselves.
The Palestinians have no money, no army, no airforce and no farm land any more.
They are routinely shot by Israeli snipers on the way to market, even Palestinian children are murdered by the Israeli military without cause.
In many cases, America has stood alone in defense of the acts that the rest of the world has condemed.

Except for those who wish to see Armageddon & the Second Cumming come true, there is no sense in our ridiculous support for a country that has no respect for us.
This is all about Fundamentalists, religion, superstition and childish stupidity.
Just another reason why religion does not belong in any gov't.

I do not know where in the world NickieD gets his information, but it appears that he is trying to put some spin on evens that the Palestinians brought upon themselves. You state this, "They are routinely shot by Israeli snipers on the way to market, even Palestinian children are murdered by the Israeli military without cause." now tell the readers where you got that information.
