HOT SPRINGS Arkansas Coach John Pelphrey would not comment Saturday on a television report citing sources that sophomore guard Rotnei Clarke is “strongly considering transferring” from Arkansas.
Pelphrey declined comment to WholeHogSports.com Saturday afternoon in Hot Springs. Pelphrey was in attendance at the Class 4A state basketball championship at Summit Arena in Hot Springs.
KNWA, a television station in Fayetteville, reported Clarke was strongly considering a transfer from Arkansas on Saturday. No decision has been made, according to a source. Clarke is scheduled to speak with Pelphrey next week as part of a normal individual meeting scheduled at the end of every season.
Clarke was second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.5 points this season. Clarke entered the postseason ninth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (42.7 percent).
Pelphrey is expected to speak to the media as part of a season-ending press conference next week.

Something Bad Wrong with the whole basketball program. Someone should come open with what is going on, no sugar-coating!

There is a pretty good coach at Baylor, that just might be avaiable. It is obvious Pelphrey can't recruit or coach!

I bet you two bandwaggoners are the same ones that sung Pelphrey's praises when the team was ripping of big time streaks last year and at the start of conference play this year... seriously you want to fire Pelphrey?? You think the Baylor Coach will come here? No one wants to come here... be happy with the one you got who loves the team, school, city and conference... If you say he can't coach look at South Alabama and Florida while he was there... If you say he can't recruit... you must not know that he recruited Clarke the same guy that you love... Give him one more year with the understanding that a new coach would fix absolutely nothing in the forseeable future...

Oh yeah and by the way, not that I need to further drive home my point about his recruiting ability... but this is the same guy that recruited Horford from Florida as well as other current NBAers David Lee and Joakim Noah... go back further and you'll get even more names like Matt Bonner and Mike Miller... please just think before you post
