A new mobile version of Arkansas.gov. has been launched.
Officials announced Thursday that Arkansas.gov Mobile will provide secure processing for government payments for smartphone users.
Three high-volume services — Pulaski County property tax payments, inmate trust account deposits and probation and parole supervision and restitution payments — can be made through a mobile device. Smartphones that can access the mobile site include iPhone, Blackberry, Google Android, Windows Mobile and Palm.
Officials say the state’s decision to launch a mobile version of Arkansas.gov was driven by the growing popularity of smartphone devices in the state.
In 2009, more than $500 million in state and local government payments were securely processed on Arkansas.gov for services, including child support payments and state tax filings.
