Some parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma could get more than a foot of snow as the storm that started Saturday drops more white.
The storm on the first weekend of spring is moving in an arc from Fort Smith to West Memphis, sparing the central and southern parts of the state.
Snowfall was moderate to heavy across northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas, which reported 8 to 12 inches of snow in places.
Four deaths in four states were blamed on hazardous road conditions from the storm. Dozens of wrecks, many of them with injuries, occurred, with single deaths reported in Missouri, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma.
The storm also disrupted travel on the roads and in the air.
The National Weather Service says the snow will keep falling across much of eastern Oklahoma and into Northwest Arkansas on Sunday, with up to 6 more inches possible. That means some part of the two states will have gotten more than a foot of snow since the storm began Saturday.
The storm came a day after temperatures had reached into the 70s, and forecasters say temperatures should rebound into the 60s as soon as Monday.
