Shiloh QB Frazier commits to Auburn

— One of the top prospects in the state and the nation, Shiloh Christian quarterback Kiehl Frazier, orally committed to Auburn on Saturday afternoon while on a visit to the school.

Frazier, 6-3, 215 pounds, 4.57 seconds in the 40-yard dash, recently narrowed his list of 26 scholarship offers to Auburn and Arkansas. CBS College Sports national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming rates Frazier as the No. 15 prospect in the nation.

Frazier’s father, Robin Beach, said his son came to him about a week ago and told him he was leaning heavily toward the Tigers.

“He told me he had been thinking it over and praying about it and just felt in his heart that he was the most comfortable at Auburn,” Beach said. “He felt like it was where he was supposed to go. He and I talked about it back and forth and I told him not to make a decision too hastily or out of emotion.”

Frazier led the Saints to the Class 4A state championship last year while completing 227 of 362 passes for 3,817 yards, 48 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He rushed 137 times for 764 and 14 touchdowns.

“He told me, ‘I would love to go to Auburn even if I couldn’t play football,’ ” Beach said. “He said, ‘You told me to go to a school that if I had a season-ending injury on Saturday that I would still be happy there on a Monday.’ He said of all the places we’ve been, Auburn is that way.”

Oral commitments are nonbinding.
