— Authorities in Pine Bluff seized about 10 pounds of suspected marijuana after a police chase.

Darius Bee, 31, of Little Rock, and Tony Warren, 33, of Pine Bluff, were arrested on drug charges.

The pursuit started just before 3 p.m. when a Pine Bluff Police Department officer observed a Nissan Altima driven by Bee make an improper turn at 16th Avenue and Indiana Street, according to a news release.

Police say Bee refused to pull over, instead turning north onto Ohio Street, east onto 8th Avenue, north on Pennsylvania, west onto Seventh Avenue and south onto Ohio Street. At Harding Avenue, the vehicle ran a red light and collided with an eastbound car.

The Altima continued about 300 more feet, where Bee fled on foot, according to the news release. He was arrested a short time later.

Warren, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested where it came to a stop.

Both men were taken to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center to be checked for possible injuries.

In addition to the suspected marijuana, authorities reported seizing unspecified drug paraphernalia and large amount of cash. The incident remains under investigation.
