LITTLE ROCK — A Kirby man died Saturday when he lost control of his 1998 Toyota truck and ran into an 18-wheeler, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.
Eldon Kuykendall, 50, of 3432 U.S. 70 was driving south on U.S. 71 near Waldron around 9:30 a.m. when he nearly drove into a ditch,then overcorrected into oncoming traffic and hit the 2000 Peterbilt truck, the report said.
Kuykendall was thrown from his truck and died at the scene, the report said.
The Peterbilt driver and passenger, Richard and Michelle Newton of Alma were injured in the crash and taken to Mercy Hospital of Scott County.
