Ark. lottery chair vows changes after audit

The chairwoman of the Arkansas Lottery Commission is vowing to take steps to correct a batch of problems with the lottery’s operations turned up by a legislative audit.

Lottery Commssion Chairwoman Dianne Lamberth on Monday told lawmakers that she plans to present a plan at the panel’s next meeting to address the findings of a recent legislative audit. Auditors cited several problems earlier this month with the lottery, including that it entered contracts with instant ticket providers without review by the Lottery Oversight Committee.

Lamberth appeared before the oversight committee Monday afternoon.

The committee also recommended that the lottery’s internal auditor report to them monthly on the lottery’s progress in addressing the audit findings.
