A domestic dispute led to charges for two people in Saline County on Tuesday, authorities said.
Law enforcement, including Arkansas State Police, SWAT and U.S. marshals, cordoned off an area of a Benton neighborhood after a man was said to have barricaded himself in a house at 7726 Casa Lane.
Earlier, a deputy called to the scene heard gunshots coming from the house. According to a police report, Jo Walker told authorities that her boyfriend, Johnathan Johnson was shooting up the house and at hit her in the head with a gun.
Johnson, when contacted by phone, said he wasn't going to be arrested any more and that he was defending himself against Walker. A 5-hour standoff ensued, with Johnson finally agreeing to turn himself into deputies at the Saline County jail late Tuesday.
Both Johnson and Walker are charged with third degree domestic battery.
