— LR gunman sought after man wounded

Little Rock police said Thursday that they were still looking for the man who fired off about a dozen shots that sent one man to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Police spokesman Michelle Hill said a young, black man of medium build and medium height, and wearing dark clothes walked up to 2315 W. 11th St. where Ronnie Wilson, 44, was sitting in the yard, pulled out a handgun and started firing.

Investigators said one of the eight to 12 shots hit Wilson. Witnesses said Wilson, bleeding from his right hip, was lying in the street when police arrived.

Wilson was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries were not considered lifethreatening. Hill said Wilson didn’t know the gunman, anddetectives don’t know of a motive for the shooting.

An update on Wilson’s condition was not available Thursday.

A few hours later, in an apparently unrelated shooting, a white truck with three men inside pulled up to the Krusty Cutz barbershop at 2809 W. 12th St. and fired four shots from a handgun, police said.

Lt. Dana Jackson said eight to 10 people were inside the building when at least two shots were fired into the front window of the business about 10:10 p.m. No one was hurt in the shooting.

Store break-in try ends in NLR arrest

A man trying to break through the roof of a convenience store early Thursday attempted to flee from police by jumping to the roof of a neighboring business but was eventually caught, North Little Rock police said.

Officers arrested Dakota Starks, 27, of 1308 Parker St. in North Little Rock after responding to a burglary alarm at a convenience store in the 2300 block of Pike Avenue about 2:15 a.m.

Starks was on the roof with an ax, attempting to chop a hole in the roof, police said. When officers arrived, they said he dropped the ax and fled north, leaping to the roof of the neighboring business, but police arrested him once he got to the ground, according to reports.

Starks was charged with commercial burglary and criminal mischief. Police said there also were several misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.

Starks was being held Thursday night at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $780 bond.
