LITTLE ROCK — Even though you may think of these winter-season plants more as a decoration than a living thing, they are indeed living and do need light and water to stay alive. Here are general ways to ensure the flowers last their longest:
Keep blooming plants in a cool room, with bright, indirect light.
Make sure you have an even supply of water, but avoid overwatering, a very common mistake.
Extremely warm rooms can cause flowers to fade quickly and dry out faster.
If you buy plants on a particularly cold day, protect them on the ride home and get them back inside as quickly as possible.
