Tigers slow Beavers RB

— The West Fork Tigers (11-2) made the most of a threehour drive to central Arkansas Friday night, advancing to the Class 3A semifinals with a 27-7 victory over the previously unbeaten Glen Rose Beavers (11-1).

The Tigers held standout running back Steven Kehner to a season-low 44 yards on 13 carries.

“Our defense has been playing great all season, but this was probably the best game they‘ve played,” Tigers Coach Rodney Sel said.

Following a poor kickoff, Glen Rose drove 48 yards in 10 plays on its opening possession, and scored on a 1-yard run by Collin Hunter.

“That was not the way we needed to start, giving them that kind of field position,” Sel said.

But the Beavers accumulated only 26 yards of offense in the second quarter, and West Fork took a 14-7 lead after a 60-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Harrison to Tyler Dewitt.

Logan Genz led West Fork with 18 carries for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Harrison finished 2 of 4 for 112 yards with 1 interception, scoring on each of his completions.

William Jarnagan had 88 yards on 18 carries.
