Art Exhibit

FAIRFIELD BAY — The North Central Arkansas Art Gallery at Indian Hills Country Club in Fairfield Bay is exhibiting artwork of the Palette Art League from Yellville through Monday, Dec. 13. The exhibit includes watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic and colored-pencil artwork, as well as photography. The Palette Art League (PAL), a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1982 in Yellville. Christian Concert

MAUMELLE — HWY 7 will be in concert at First Baptist Church in Maumelle at 5 p.m. This contemporary Christian band from Russellville has performed with Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley and other famous artists. The group has appeared in various venues throughout the United States, including Carnegie Hall, Silver Dollar City and Dollywood, and were a part of the Faith, Family and Country Tour. The public is invited to attend.

Parade Deadline

RUSSELLVILLE — The entry deadline for the 2010 Russellville Christmas Parade is noon Monday. Entries will not be accepted after the deadline. Parade entry forms are available at the Russellville Recreation and Parks Department office, 1000 E. Parkway, or may be downloaded at www.eteamz.com/rsvlparksdepartment. Photos with Santa

CONWAY — Photos with Santa will be available from 6-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 3, at Green Grove Masonic Lodge 107 on South Harkrider Street (Arkansas 65) in Conway, next to the Continental Inn Motel. The cost is $5 per 3-by-5-inch print. Participants are asked not to bring pets. Proceeds will benefit the Arkansas Food Bank Network.

Cancer Caps

HEBER SPRINGS — The Cancer Love Caps group will meet for a sew-in with setup at 9 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. Bring a dish to share at lunch. The event will end around 2:30 p.m. Besides the Love Caps, the group will start making quilts and hats for patients at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. More machines are always needed. Diabetes Support Group

CONWAY — Brent Hendrickson, manager of Apex Medical Rentals Inc., a division of Baker Drug Store, will discuss proper fitting of shoes and prosthetics, as well as foot care, for individuals with diabetes during the next meeting of the Conway Regional Diabetes Education and Support Group. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Conway Regional Women’s Center’s diabetes education classroom. The group meets the last Tuesday of each month and is free and open to diabetes patients and their caregivers from throughout central Arkansas. For more information, call (501) 513-5248.

Ladies Lunch

Lunch and Learn

MORRILTON — The Conway County Friends of the Library will have a “Holiday Tricks of the Trade” special Lunch and Learn. Pam Teague, owner, and Justin Hoadley, sales manager, of Events Rental and Floral in Conway will share their knowledge of design and decorating. The Lunch and Learn program will begin at noon at the Conway County Library, and refreshments will be provided by the women of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs’ Pathfinder Club. Art Show

MAUMELLE — The Maumelle Senior Wellness Center’s watercolor and painting group, Georgia’s Aspiring Artists, will host its third annual Evening in Watercolor from 4-7 p.m. in the great room of the center. The Senior Center is at 550 Edgewood Drive, Suite 400. This is the lower level of the Maumelle City Center, which looks out onto Lake Valencia. Tickets are available at the Maumelle Senior Wellness Center in advance of the show or at the door. Prices are $4 for adults and $3 for seniors (65 and older). Children 12 and younger will be admitted free. The ticket price includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages, live music, an art and craft show and a silent auction. Dinner Theater
