Pet of the week

— Canine Close-Up Squeaky is a well-behaved pug/ miniature pinscher mix. She is 1, and would do fine in a home with cats, other dogs or children. Squeaky is also house- and leashtrained.

Brando is an intelligent and inquisitive 2-year-old terrier mix. He is already house-trained and loves to use his doggie door. This adorable pup gets along well with cats and dogs.

Buck is a treeing walker/coon hound mix that has had a hard time and needs a caring home. After he was taken in, an examination showed that Buck hadbeen shot and likely kicked hard enough to dislocate his hip. He has already undergone surgery and is ready for a home. Buck is 2, very friendly, house-trained and great with children.

Lawson is a 12-week-old Labrador retriever mix. He and his five litter mates were found on a cold, wet night on Lawson Road, where they had taken refuge in a drainage pipe. Lawson loves to play with other dogs and is very smart. He is also working on house-training and so far has had no accidents in the house.

Nabisco is a handsome English shepherd mix nicknamed Cisco. He is 1, and would do best with an owner who enjoys training and a home with older children. Cisco is friendly with people he knows and enjoys playing with other dogs, but barks when he sees new things.

Featured Felines Mac is a solid black 4-month-old kitten with a shiny coat. He is a handsome, healthy kitten who loves to play with his toys and enjoys following his owner around.

Milo is an orange tabby that manages to stay calm in his foster home filled with little dogs and several cats. He is 2, very peaceful and loves the company of people and will purr when he sees them.

Winter is a predominantly white cat with lovely green eyes. She is 2 and a bit shy, but will warm up quickly to her new owner.
