Hot Springs, Ark., panel eyes youth sports complex

Officials of the Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission are looking at a study of the feasibility of a regional youth sports complex in the city.

The Hot Springs Sentinel-Record says a proposal for such a study is on the agenda for a commission meeting on Monday.

If the commission approves the proposal, the panel will ask the Hot Springs Board of Directors to apply to the state for a matching grant to pay for half the cost of the study.

Steve Arrison, CEO of the Hot Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the commission would still pay half the cost of the $20,000 study, even if it gets the state grant.
