— Arkansans in Congress say an assisted living center being built in Paragould will get a $99,000 federal grant.

Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, plus Rep. Marion Berry, all D-Ark, said Tuesday that Arkansas Methodist Medical Center’s Chateau on the Ridge will get the money from the federal Health and Human Services Department.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the facility was held last week.

Shane Carter, vice president of the AMMC retirement community board, said the federal funds will be used to buy equipment for the new facility.

The first phase of the project includes a 59-unit assisted living center, scheduled to be completed in summer 2011. The campus will eventually include an Alzheizmer’s disease treatment center and another assisted living community.
