Forrest City jury acquits owners of adult store

FORREST CITY — A jury in Forrest City has acquitted the owners of an Adult World store of obscenity charges.
Prosecutor Fletcher Long told the Times-Herald newspaper of Forrest City that he accepts the verdict. Long says the jury found the movies sold at the store do not violate community standards. The jury deliberated four hours Friday night before reaching its verdict.
Lawyers for the store owners, brothers Jim and Wayne Philpot, say the jurors understood the law and that the verdict upholds the First Amendment.
