I-30 lane closures rescheduled

Lane closures for road work on Interstate 30 in Texarkana have been rescheduled.

They were set for Tuesday night and Wednesday night but were moved to Thursday night and Friday night this week as crews work on the new bridges over the interstate, east of the Highway 245 interchange.

“The lane closures involve all lanes of traffic and will take place between 10 p.m. each night and 6 a.m. the next morning in order to impact traffic less,” according to Don Donaldson, District Engineer for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department in Hope. “All detour routes will be signed accordingly.”

The following is the schedule for lane closures and detour routes:

Thursday, September 9, 2010 – All lanes of Eastbound Interstate 30 between the Highway 245 Interchange in Texarkana (Exit 2) and the Highway 108 Interchange at Mandeville (Exit 7) will be closed.

Detour: Eastbound Interstate 30: will be detoured onto Highway 245 (Exit 2), traffic should proceed southbound on Highway 245 to Highway 67eastbound, to Highway 108 northbound and back onto Interstate 30 at the Highway 108 Interchange (Exit 7). All intersections involved in the detours will be worked by police officers.

Friday, September 10, 2010 - All lanes of Westbound Interstate 30 between the Highway 108 Interchange at Mandeville (Exit 7) and the Highway 245 Interchange in Texarkana (Exit 2) will be closed.

Detour: Westbound Interstate 30: will be detoured onto Highway 108 (Exit 7). Motorists will take Highway 108 southbound to Highway 67 westbound to Highway 245 northbound and back onto Interstate 30 at the Highway 245 Interchange (Exit 2). All intersections involved in the detours will be worked by police officers.
