— Pulaski County authorities found more than 17 pounds of marijuana in the back of a Cadillac stopped initially because its driver wasn't wearing a seat belt, according to a police report.

The driver, 23-year-old Jordan Tipton, of North Little Rock, was arrested Tuesday night on charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended. She was also wanted on an outstanding failure to appear warrant.

According to the report, a sheriff's deputy pulled Tipton's Cadillac Escalade over about 7:40 p.m. near Fairfax Drive and Highway 161 after spotting Tipton driving it without her seat belt on.

Tipton reportedly couldn't find the vehicle registration or proof of insurance and also didn't have a driver's license, telling the deputy she knew she was not supposed to be driving. Authorities confirmed a short time later that Tipton's license was suspended and that she was wanted out of Sherwood.

After the arrest, police searched the Cadillac and found 17.18 pounds of marijuana in a cooler in the back of the vehicle, according to the report. The marijuana had been divided among several large, individually-wrapped bags.

Tipton was released on bond just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.
