Harding wins own tournament

Harding’s women’s team won its Bison Fall Golf Classic at River Oaks Golf Course Tuesday in Searcy.

The Bisons turned in a 620, while Arkansas Tech shot a 642. Arkansas Tech was third at 655. Ouachita Baptist was seventh at 785 and Arkansas-Monticello was eighth at 795.

Harding’s Whitney Ohlhausen shot 75-76-151 for individual medalist honors and Harding’s Soyum Kim shot a 75-77-152 to finish second. Arkansas Tech sophomore Elizabeth Sweetnam shot 78-79-157 to finish third.

Jenna Araco and Rachel Harmon tied for sixth-place to lead Henderson State, which shot 663 to finish fourth.

Reddies finish eighth

Henderson State turned in team scores of 296-300-596 to finish eighth at the Darrell Forman Invitational hosted by Delta State in Cleveland, Miss.

Sam Lavelle led the Reddies with rounds of 71 and 74 to finish in a tie for 12th-place. Ethan King shot 69-78-147 for a 22nd-place finish.

North Alabama won the event with a team score of 550, while host Delta State was second at 574.

UCA golfer finishes fourth

Central Arkansas senior Steven Lecuyer finished fourth and the Bears tied for 10th on Tuesday in the UTA/Waterchase Invitational played at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth.

Lecuyer shot 72-71-69-212. His 69 was the third-lowest round of the final day. The Bears shot 880 as a team and tied for 10th place with Texas Wesleyan.

North Texas won the tournament at 844.

UCA senior Andrew Hopkins shot 70-79-73-222 and tied for 43rd place. Junior Josh Sims tied for 56th with 75-74-77-226, while senior Gideon Pienaar shot 78-75-74-227 and tied for 62nd. Senior Jad Sinclair tied for 86th (73-77-83-233).

Ceka named GSC Soccer Player of the Week

Ouachita Baptist sophomore Rizvan Ceka was named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Ceka scored two goals in a 4-1 victory over Harding on Sept. 16. On the season, Ceka leads Ouachita (4-2) with four goals and eight points overall.

VOLLEYBALL

Henderson’s Totten honored by GSC

Henderson State libero Ashley Totten was named the Gulf South Conference West division Defensive Player of the Week.

The junior from Chandler, Ariz., recorded 114 digs (4.96 per game) for the Lady Reddies (8-3).

Totten totaled 31 digs in a loss to Valdosta State and went over 20 three other times, including 24 in a four-set victory over Division I Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Williams Baptist loses to Missouri Baptist

Williams Baptist lost to Missouri Baptist 4-1 Tuesday in St. Louis. Lucas Braga scored the only for goal for Williams Baptist (2-3-1, 0-1 American Midwest Conference).
