— A truck carrying glue ran into an RV trailer that became disconnected from a pickup late this morning, closing the southbound lanes of Interstate 440.

Dispatchers said one lane had reopened by 1:50 p.m. and the other two were expected to open by about 2 p.m.

The accident happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. just north of the Faulkner Lake Road exit.

No one was killed but authorities say at least one person suffered unspecified injuries. The driver of the glue truck appeared to be injured but was conscious and alert after the accident.

Debris from the trailer is strewn across the southbound interstate.

The driver of the pickup, Louisiana resident Tommy James, said he recognized the trailer had become unhooked and was attached only by a chain. He said he was trying to move it off the highway when the collision occurred. James wasn't injured and no one was in the RV trailer, which was completely destroyed.

It wasn't clear how long the lanes are likely to be shut.
