BEEBE 60, PARAGOULD 14

BEEBE - Jay Holdway ran for three touchdowns to help lead Beebe (1-3, 1-0) to a 5A-East Conference win over Paragould (0-4, 0-1).

Brandon Fuller ran back two interceptions for touchdowns. His returns were good for 32 and 55 yards. Colby Taylor scored two touchdowns on a pair of 1-yard runs.

Holdway had touchdown runs of 6, 1 and 3 yards.

Beebe led 21-0 after one quarter and 47-14 at the half.

Micheal Kirby ran 24 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, following scores by Taylor and Holdway.

Fuller returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter for Beebe after Taylor’s second score. Holdway scored twice in the second quarter.

Paragould’s two touchdowns came in the second quarter, both on runs by Chance Sugg of 3 and 35 yards to bring Paragould within 47-14 at the half.

Beebe’s other scores came on a 54-yard run by Rory Moore and Fuller’s 55-yard interception runback. Jordan Gross kicked six extras points.

BATESVILLE 57, NETTLETON 0

BATESVILLE - The home team trounced Nettleton, scoring three times in the first quarter on its way to an easy victory.

Batesville’s Darren Stiggers and Jordan Childress each had five carries and scored three touchdowns. Stiggers had 145 yards rushing and Childress had 104 yards.

The team scored 29 points in the second quarter and seven in the third. The fourth quarter was scoreless.

Batesville is 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play and Nettleton is 0-4 overall.

GREENE COUNTY TECH 42, FORREST CITY 22

PARAGOULD - Greene County Tech quarterback Clayton Davis rushed for 216 yards and passed for 218 yards to lead the Golden Eagles over the Forrest City Mustangs in the teams’ 5A-East opener.

Davis scored on runs of 20 and 15 yards and connected twice with Nathan Summitt to give the Golden Eagles (2-2) a 35-0 lead in the second quarter. Brian Griffith also scored on a 30-yard run in the first half.

Forrest City (1-3) scored in the third quarter on a 70-yard pass from Montrell Mathis to Davyon McKinney, but Davis responded with a 40-yard touchdown pass to Summitt.

Mathis added a touchdown on a quarterback sneak and threw to Akeem Bogart for the final score of the game.

WYNNE 35, BLYTHEVILLE 26

BLYTHEVILLE - Justin Cobb scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to rally Wynne (3-1, 1-0) over Blytheville (2-2, 0-1) in a 5A-East Conference game.

Cobb put Wynne ahead 28-26 with a short touchdown run then added a 2-yard score. Johnny Ratley’s extra point gave Wynne a nine-point lead.

The lead changed hands five times in the game.

Blytheville took a 6-0 lead on a 70-yard fumble return by Owen Wilson. Wynne’s Rumial Winfrey scored on a 13-yard run and Ratley kicked the extra point to give Wynne a 7-6 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Blytheville retook the lead on a 1-yard run in the second quarter. A 37-yard pass from Zach Trail to Tristion Jones for a touchdown put Wynne back ahead 15-12. Trail then passed to Winfrey for a 33-yard touchdown and a 22-12 Wynne lead.

Blytheville closed within 22-18 on Patrick Smith’s 32-yard touchdown pass to Josh Daniels.
