— Super Six BEARDEN 55, STRONG 6

BEARDEN - Defonta Lowe ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more to lead Bearden (3-1, 3-0 8-2A) over previously unbeaten Strong.

Lowe ran for touchdowns of 1, 5 and 15 yards. He passed for touchdowns of 54 and 36 yards to Blain Harris.

Lowe finished with 134 yards rushing on 18 carries, and passed for 193 yards, hitting 9 of 10 passing attempts.

B.J. Ross, Connor Mosely and Tyler Crouse all added touchdown runs for Bearden.

Strong (3-1, 1-1) got a 16-yard touchdown run from Kenneth Dixon.

JUNCTION CITY 55, HERMITAGE 0

JUNCTION CITY - Sophomore Shaquille Hunter intercepted two passes and ran for a touchdown Friday as the Dragons routed Hermitage 55-0. The win moves Junction to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the 8-2A Conference while the Hermits fall to 0-4 overall.

With Hermitage operating from the spread, Hunter intercepted a pass on the game’s first play, then picked off another in the second that he returned for a touchdown. Junior JaRyan Brown added his third interception of the season in the opening quarter. Sophomore Hayden Smith recovered a fumble for a touchdown in the second quarter.

The Hermits began the night with just14 players, including three freshmen called up to the varsity. They finished with minus-14 yards of offense and just one first down.

Junior tailback Bronte Elliott opened the scoring with a 38-yard run with 10:53 left in the opening quarter.

Hunter’s second interception of the night came with 8:53 left in the first half. He returned it 45 yards down the home sideline for the touchdown.

MAGNET COVE 34, PARKERS CHAPEL 21

EL DORADO - Jeff Pinkston rushed for 113 yards and Magnet Cove returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the victory over Parkers Chapel, which committed seven turnovers.

Josh Scott returned a fourth-quarter interception 45 yards for a touchdown to seal the victory.

Taylor Bray returned an interception 30 yards for a first-quarter touchdown.

SPRING HILL 56, FOREMAN 0

FOREMAN - Rondre Jones and Colton Capps each scored three touchdowns as No. 4 Spring Hill (4-0, 1-0) rolled past Foreman (1-3, 0-1) in a 7-2A Conference game.

Jones rushed for 159 yards on 7 carries and scored a 2-point conversion. Jones’ scores came on runs of 24, 53 and 24 yards.

Capps ran four times for 99 yards, scoring on rushes of 48, 38 and 5 yards.

Capps also accounted for a safetyby tackling a Foreman back in the end zone.

Hendrix Routon ran 18 yards for a touchdown and Wyatt Putman scored on a 14-yard run for Spring Hill’s other scores.

CARLISLE 43, MARVELL 8

MARVELL - Ben Walker rushed for 133 yards and scored three touchdowns to help No. 5 Carlisle (2-2, 1-0) down Marvell (0-4, 0-1) in 6-2A Conference play.

D.J. Miller had a 1-yard touchdown and Braxton Petrus also scored in the first quarter as Carlisle jumped to a 16-0 lead.

Walker scored all of his touchdowns in the second quarter. Walker, who carried 11 times, scored on runs of 4 yards, 20 yards and 1 yard.

Shane Edwards added a 7-yard touchdown run.

DES ARC 13, HAZEN 12

HAZEN - Justin Hollis threw 25 yards to Colt Huggins with 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter and Taylor Warren’s extra point kick gave Des Arc (2-2, 1-0 6-2A) the upset over No. 6 Hazen.

Hazen (3-1, 0-1) built a 12-0 lead at halftime, but Hollis cut into it with a 30-yard scoring pass to Trent Whiting in the third quarter.

3-2A AUGUSTA 34, MARKED TREE 16

MARKED TREE - Cordell Turner and Jordan Brown connected on two touchdown passes as Augusta (3-1, 2-0) won a 3-2A Conference game over Marked Tree (1-3, 1-2).

Running back Henry Poindexter also scored two touchdowns.

Poindexter ran 7 yards for a touchdown to give Augusta a 6-0 lead at the half.

Turner passed 15 yards for a score to Brown in the third quarter. Poindexter followed with a 15-yard run for his second score and a 20-0 lead.

Turner passed to Brown again for a 45-yard touchdown to push the score to 27-0. Ishma Clark’s 57-yard run ended the scoring for Augusta after Marked Tree got its first touchdown.

Marked Tree scored both of its touchdowns in the fourth period.

5-2A BIGELOW 41, POYEN 6

POYEN - Bigelow (2-2, 2-0 2A-5) took an early lead Friday at Poyen (1-3, 1-2 2A-5) after Spencer Langston scored on a quarterback keeper.

Langston also completed touchdown passes to Damien Choate and Justin Southerland to give Bigelow a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

Poyen scored its only touchdown on a pass from Tyler Emerson to Luke Nanneman.

MOUNTAIN PINE 28, QUITMAN 12

QUITMAN - Jacob Crawford had 23 carries for 181 yards and Caleb Hughesscored three touchdowns for Mountain Pine (3-1, 1-1) in a victory over Quitman (0-4, 0-2).

Hughes scored on a two-yard run in the first, on a four-yard run in the second and a four-yard run in the fourth.

Crawford scored on a 16-yard run in the fourth.

Quitman’s Chase Stewart had two receptions for 62 yards and two touchdowns.

CONWAY CHRISTIAN 42, TWO RIVERS 8

CONWAY - Bates Isom led Conway Christian (3-1, 2-0) to a victory over Two Rivers (1-3, 1-1) with two touchdowns.

Conway Christian had 405 yards rushing and six touchdowns, averaging 11 yards a carry. Isom had 14 carries for 209 yards.

Adam Ragland had nine carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Kirby Powell had 44 yards running and scored a touchdown. Jackson Wilson had three carries for 64 yards and one touchdown.

Two Rivers was scoreless until the fourth quarter when the team scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion.

6-2A CLARENDON 40, HUGHES 0

HUGHES - Jamarlin Jackson and Grant Caldwell scored two touchdownseach to lead Clarendon (3-1, 1-0) over Hughes (0-4, 0-1) in a 6-2A Conference game.

Jackson scored the game’s first touchdown on a 5-yard run. Caldwell followed with a 6-yard scoring run and a 15-0 first quarter lead.

Caldwell’s second touchdown came off a 20-yard pass reception in the second quarter. Jaymen Jackson ran 2 yards for a touchdown for a 27-0 halftime lead.

Jamarlin Jackson’s second touchdown was good from 5 yards out in the third quarter. Arnell Sims capped the scoring with a 1-yard run in the third quarter.

ENGLAND 65, PALESTINE-WHEATLEY 35

PALESTINE - Mark Hatton had six touchdowns and rushed for 300 yards as England (3-1, 1-0 6-2A) topped Palestine-Wheatley (2-2, 0-1).

D’Anthony Wedlow had 175 yards and two touchdowns. Justin Collas had 75 yards rushing and one touchdown.

8-2A WOODLAWN 36, DERMOTT 0

DERMOTT - Blake Brown and Patrick Vinson each scored twice to lead Woodlawn (1-3, 1-2 8-2A) over Dermott (0-3, 0-3).

Brown also posted a two-point conversion in the first quarter. David Busick scored in the second quarter on a pass from Jarrod Maglothin.
