CLASS 3A SUPER SIX

RIVERCREST 48, CORNING 9

CORNING - Quarterback Demoin Brown needed only one quarter to lead Class 3A’s No. 1 Rivercrest (4-0, 1-0) past Corning (0-4, 0-1).

Brown scored on a 41-yard run 58 seconds into the game and later passed 67 yards to Terrence Banks for a touchdown.

Earl Byrd scored two touchdowns for Rivercrest and Michael Wright scored on a 58-yard run.

Rivercrest’s Robert Cooney recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown and Terrian Tyler returned an interception 16 yards for a score.

Corning’s scores were off a fumble return of 55 yards and a safety.

CHARLESTON 38, PERRYVILLE 0

PERRYVILLE - Dustin Shelby threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Charleston (3-1, 1-0 4-3A Conference) past Perryville.

Shelby completed 8 of 9 passes for 154 yards. He hit Zach Craig with a 30-yard touchdown pass and Zach White with a 64-yard touchdown pass. Shelby’s touchdown run covered 45 yards in the second quarter as Charleston took a 32-0 lead into halftime.

Zach Marry had two touchdown runs in the first quarter that covered 3 and 7 yards.

Ryan McDonald, who had seven carries for 67 yards, added a 14-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

HARDING ACADEMY 44, EPISCOPAL 7

Quarterback Seth Keese rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another to lead No. 3 Harding Academy (3-1, 1-0) to a 2-3A Conference triumph over Episcopal (1-3, 0-1).

Keese rushed for 139 yards on eight carries and had an 8-yard touchdown pass.

Jace Davis led the defensive effort with 13 tackles.

FOUNTAIN LAKE 41, CENTERPOINT 0

ROSBORO - Senior running back Mark Makin, an all-state running back last year but slowed by hand and back injuries, ran for 177 yards and four touchdowns as Fountain Lake (1-3, 1-0 5-3A) topped Centerpoint.

Austin Harvey returned an interception and Cody Livingston ran for the Cobras’ other touchdowns.

Fountain Lake held Centerpoint to 102 yards and forced four turnovers. Andrew Davis had an interception and he and Michael Pope each had a fumble recovery.

RISON 33, CAMDEN HARMONY GROVE 22

RISON - Senior halfback Rock Caldwell ran for two touchdowns and caught a 69-yard touchdown pass from Juann Jones to lead Rison past previously unbeaten Camden Harmony Grove.

The Wildcats (3-1, 1-0 6-3A) took advantage of five first-half turnovers by the Hornets (3-1, 0-1) to lead 19-0 at halftime.

PRESCOTT 62, CUTTER MORNING STAR 14

PRESCOTT - Prescott running back Daniel McCoy had 11 carries for 203 yards and four touchdowns Friday, all in the first half. Prescott (3-1, 1-0 3A-5) finished with eight rushing touchdowns.

McCoy scored first on a three-yard run. Prescott struck again with a 21-yard run by Brandon Marks. Cutter Morning Star (2-2, 0-1 3A-5) answered with a 33-yard touchdown pass from William Machen to Alexander Roe, but failed a two-point conversion attempt. McCoy ended the first quarter with a 37-yard touchdown run. Prescott led 21-6.

McCoy scored on a 67-yard run to begin the second quarter. Marks scored his second touchdown on a 20-yard run. McCoy got his final touchdown on a four-yard run to end the half. Prescott led 42-6.
