River Valley Voices

Q: Who was your favorite teacher and why?

A: My favorite teacher is Mr. Dean Stark, because he made science come alive for his students. He did things like take us on “science walks,” where we got to learn about plants in our area. He made sure we had hands-on experiments in biology and chemistry, too, which truly made understanding scientific principles easier. I love nature and other parts of science, and our Earth, because of Mr. Stark.

Earlene Lang-Hankins, Quitman

A: Her name was Lenore Cupp, and she taught drama. She was fierce, opinionated and strong-willed. She also taught us personal responsibility, gave us confidence and called out the best in us. She always was and still is my favorite teacher.
