Arkansas loses to Tennessee

Tennessee scored in the 88th minute Friday in Knoxville, Tenn., for a 2-1 victory over Arkansas.

Arkansas (3-5-1, 0-1 SEC) led 1-0 after Ally Atkins scored in the 11th minute, but the Razorbacks gave up a goal six minutes later.

Tennessee outshot Arkansas 29-12. Arkansas had just one shot on goal in the second half.

UALR goalkeeper gets record despite loss

Despite a 3-0 loss Friday to Florida International in Miami, UALR goalkeeper Jane Picarelli became the school’s all-time leader in saves.

Picarelli had seven saves.

Harding gets victory

Freshman forward Adriana Lucar scored two goals in the second half for Harding (2-5-1) on Friday for a 2-1 victory at Alabama-Huntsville.

Harding had not come back to win a conference road game since 2007 against West Georgia.

Harding goalkeeper Chelsea Hornbeck had nine saves.

Hendrix loses lead, game

Hendrix (3-2, 0-1) lost to Trinity 7-3 Friday in Conway. Yubi Ribeiro scored three goals for Trinity, of San Antonio.

Hendrix led 3-2 after two goals by Connor Silvestri and one from Duncan Keegan.

Trinity has won all 19 games against Hendrix.

Williams Baptist wins on road

Williams Baptist (3-4-1) beat Benedictine College 4-1 Saturday in Springfield, Ill.

Jorge Mojica and Lucas Braga each had two goals.

Arkansas loses SEC match

Arkansas (7-7, 1-2) lost to Mississippi State 23-25, 25-13, 26-24, 17-25, 18-16 Friday in Starksville, Miss.

Jasmine Norton had 15 kills and 15 digs. Brooke Fournier had a teamhigh 20 digs.

Arkansas’ past four matches have gone five sets. The Razorbacks are 3-4 this season in five-set matches.

Arkansas State falls at home

Arkansas State (6-7, 0-1) lost its Sun Belt Conference opener Friday in Jonesboro 25-23, 25-13, 25-17 to Western Kentucky.

Cayla Fielder led with 17 kills. Megan Baska had 13 kills.

UALR drops opener

UALR (2-9, 0-1) lost its conference opener Friday in Little Rock 25-19, 25-18, 25-17 to Middle Tennessee.

Paige Ganter and Eva Xie had seven kills each. Daniele Souza Moura and Kristi Block had eight kills each.

CROSS COUNTRY

Arkansas finishes second

Arkansas men’s cross country finished second Saturday behind Stanford at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Arkansas had five runners finish in the top 12.

Solomon Haile led Arkansas with a sixth-place finish. Haile ran the 8K course in 23 minutes, 30 seconds.

“I’m very pleased with our effort today,” Coach Chris Bucknam said. “Our guys got in there and mixed it up in a strong field of teams but ran a smart race and were in control of themselves.”
