Vance rape trial moved to Feb. 1

— The Lee County rape trial of the man convicted of killing TV news anchor Anne Pressly has been delayed again.

Curtis Vance had been scheduled to go to trial on Nov. 1. The Lee County clerk’s office said Friday that the trial is now set for Feb. 1.

The reported rape in Marianna in 2008 figured prominently in the case prosecutors put on in Little Rock against Vance for Pressly’s killing.

When police were searching for Pressly’s murderer, DNA from the crime scene matched DNA taken during the Marianna rape investigation and made Vance a suspect.

Vance is appealing his sentence of life without parole in Pressly’s killing. Pressly was a news anchor for Little Rock television station KATV.
