LITTLE ROCK — Lt. Gov. Bill Halter is launching an initiative encouraging Arkansans to take a 12-week challenge to exercise often and eat healthier.
Halter on Thursday announced the start of the “Your Heart Is In Your Hands” effort that will reward participants with medals for making good health choices. Halter was joined by Democrat lieutenant governor candidate Shane Broadway and Republican candidate Mark Darr to announce the program.
Both Darr and Broadway said they plan to continue the program if elected. The program is part of a campaign by the National Lieutenant Governors Association.
Halter, who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic Senate nomination this year, is not seeking re-election in November.
