— LR man shot in gut at club, report says

A Little Rock man was shot outside a club in Wrightsville on Sunday, according to Pulaski County sheriff’s office reports.

Tony James Robinson Jr., 23, of Little Rock was shot on the left side of his stomach outside Chocolate City, at 13509 Asher Road, the report said.

At 2:59 a.m., officers were dispatched to the scene. Robinson was already being driven to Little Rock’s UAMS Medical Center by his mother, Bonita Brown, 40, of North Little Rock.

Brown, who spoke to officers at the hospital, said her son got into an argument with an unknown man outside the club. Brown said the man’s uncle, known only to her as “Ricky,” walked up to her son and shot him, the report said.

The club’s DJ, Antonio Penny, said “Ricky” had gone to the club Sunday but that he also didn’t know the man’s last name, the report said.

Brown described “Ricky” as a black man in his sixties, wearing jeans and a white and gray shirt, the report said.

Lt. Carl Minden said no arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon. UAMS officials did not have a listing for Robinson at the hospital.

After car chase,

crash, man held

A man was arrested Saturday night on charges of fleeing and possession of marijuana after authorities said he led a Pulaski County sheriff’s deputy on a car chase and crashed into a utility pole.

Eric Allen, 46, of Hensley was also charged with reckless driving, speeding and driving with a suspended license, according to the deputy’s report.

The deputy said the chase started shortly before 9:30 p.m., after he began following a 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass that he saw leaving a “known narcotics residence” near Perkins Street and Arkansas 365 in Wrightsville.

After noticing the car’s license-plate light was out, the deputy attempted to pull the car over. The Cutlass stopped briefly in a store parking lot on 145th Street, then sped off, heading south on Arkansas 365, the report said. As the Cutlass’ driver attempted to turn left onto Holly Street, the car slid on gravel and crashed into the pole, the report said.

Allen was not injured and was arrested without incident, the report said. In the center console of the car, the deputy said he found a bag containing less than an ounce of marijuana.
