Dillard's sees bump in July sales

LITTLE ROCK Dillard's on Thursday reported its July sales were 8 percent higher than last year across all stores.
The Little Rock-based company also said comparable store sales increased by 9 percent in the period. Total sales increased from $425 million in July 2010 to $458 million this year.
The July period saw slightly above average sales in the central region and below average sales in the western region.
Total sales for the 13-week period ending July 30 were up 5 percent overall and 6 percent in comparable stores. Total sales for the 26-week period ending July 30, meanwhile, were up 3 percent overall and 4 percent in comparable sales.
Dillard's operates in 29 states.
