LITTLE ROCK Two people were killed in two separate traffic accidents on Interstate 30 Thursday morning, police have confirmed.
The first wreck occurred just west of the South Street exit in Benton and involved three 18-wheelers, including one that overturned. That accident happened just after 4 a.m. and closed the eastbound lanes for several hours.
In the second wreck, a pedestrian was struck shortly before 5 a.m. by an 18-wheeler near the Alexander exit, according to preliminary information.
Reports on the two wrecks have not yet been released. But Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said there was one fatality at each crash scene.
