A Cabot man accused of breaking into a storage building was arrested Tuesday.
Benjamin Edward McKenzie, 29, was charged with theft of property, breaking and entering and fleeing.
Officers responding to a call of two suspicious men on Whisperwood Lane in Cabot were told that a woman had dropped off two white men, who went about the area looking at houses and backyards.
While interviewing witnesses, a deputy saw a man walk out from between two houses and flee the area. The man ran through several backyards and a field and then fell into a pond, where deputies caught him.
Further investigation led to the discovery of stolen property hidden in the woods. The property had been taken from a residential storage building.
Mckenzie was transported to the Lonoke County jail. Lt. James Kulesa related the other suspects have been identified and arrest warrants are pending.
In a separate incident in Lonoke County, deputies arrested a Carlisle man after a joint investigation by the sheriff's office and Carlisle Police Department. Tony Waggoner, 48, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance.
He was transported to the Lonoke County jail.
