FORREST CITY — A prosecutor says he is weighing formal charges against a Forrest City school bus driver accused of letting a 6-year-old boy out to walk a mile home after a snowstorm.
Prosecutor Fletcher Long said Thursday that 45-year-old Windell Jones will be charged with child endangerment, but undecided is whether that will be as a felony or a misdemeanor.
The Times-Herald of Forrest City reported two other children — a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy — were also let out in the snow and had to walk a half mile to their homes.
The incidents occurred Monday, when a winter storm targeted mainly eastern Arkansas, two days prior to the Wednesday storm that crippled northwest Arkansas and covered the entire state with snow.
Jones doesn’t have a listed phone number.
