Beebe gives $881K from bid to Ark. Democrats

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe has given more than $881,000 left over from his successful re-election bid to the state Democratic Party, while his Republican rival’s campaign ended the year with more than $171,000 in debt.

Beebe reported last week that his campaign made four contributions totaling $881,288 in December to the state party after winning a second term in the Nov. 2 election. Beebe raised more than $5 million during his campaign, according to his final campaign report.

Republican gubernatorial nominee Jim Keet’s campaign reported that it owed $100,000 to Delta Trust & Bank and $71,423 to Keet. Keet raised $366,382 for his bid against Beebe.

Thursday was the deadline for campaigns for state office to file their final reports from the election year.
