A 7-year-old boy shot in the face at an apartment complex in Texarkana has been airlifted to a Little Rock hospital, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Links Apartments.
Officers received a call about the shooting, and on the way to the apartments, received a second call about a child with a gunshot wound at a local hospital.
No further details about the shooting were released.
Investigators discovered the shooting occurred in one of the apartments. Shameka Dewberry, 24, and Devante Henderson, 18, both of Texarkana, have been arrested and charged with first degree battery.
Additionally, police said, Henderson was charged with theft by receiving of a firearm. The gun used in the incident was recovered and had been reported stolen out of Dallas, Texas.
