New Miss WBC crowned

— Samantha Linderman, a junior from Mammoth Spring, is the newly crowned Miss Williams Baptist College. Linderman was presented the title at the annual Miss WBC Pageant on Feb. 25.

Linderman is majoring in biology/pre-medicine. She receives a $250 scholarship with the title. She is the daughter of Terry and Sandra Linderman of Mammoth Spring.

The first runner-up is Elizabeth Harmon of Jonesboro. Harmon, a sophomore majoring in music education, is the daughter of Mark and Krysha Harmon.

The second runner-up is Emily Franklin of Cooter, Mo. She also won the pageant’s talent award, which includes a $150 scholarship. Franklin, a freshman psychology major, is the daughter of Allen and Carla Franklin.

Third runner-up honors went to Kindahl Mayfield of Concord, who was also presented the Scholarship of Excellence. The $100 scholarship, presented in honor of WBC’s Jackie Burton, is given to the contestant with the highest GPA. Mayfield, a sophomore psychology major, is the daughter of Tim and Marilyn Mayfield.

The Miss Congeniality title was presented to Bella Rains of Quincy, Ill. Rains, a senior majoring in social studies education, is the daughter of Tom and Catherine Rains.

Twelve contestants took part in the pageant. The winners were presented their honors by the 2010 Miss WBC, sophomore Lindsay Kammerer of Conowingo, Md.
