— Receiver Lance Ray and kicker Eduardo Camara have been granted releases by the University of Arkansas since the conclusion of spring football drills.

Ray did not practice with the Razorbacks during the spring while serving an indefinite suspension following his on-campus arrest Jan. 30 for possession of marijuana and for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

The junior from Havana, Fla., turned in one of the fastest 40-yard dash times on the team, 4.35 seconds in winter testing a year ago, and had emerged from a crowded field as Arkansas’ lead kickoff return man after Dennis Johnson’s injury last season.

Ray averaged a teamhigh 22.5 yards on 23 kickoff returns, including a 66-yarder, and had 1 reception for 6 yards in 2010.

Ray’s spot among thecorps of wideouts likely would have been well down the depth chart had he returned, behind players such as Greg Childs, Jarius Wright, Cobi Hamilton, Javontee Herndon, Maudrecus Humphrey and possibly freshman Quinta Funderburk.

Camara came to campus as a scholarship kicker in 2010 along with fellow freshman Zach Hocker. Camara redshirted after Hocker came on midway through fall camp to win the place-kicking duties.

Camara, who turned 20 on Christmas Day, participated about halfway through spring practices in April before leaving the team. The Cedar Hill, Texas, native was rated the No. 14 kicker in the high school class of 2010 by Rivals.com.

Neither Ray nor Camara returned phone calls from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette seeking information about where they intended to transfer.
