Tommy Smith, the popular Little Rock radio personality, was arrested after a leaving the scene of an accident, according to Pulaski County authorities.

The 56-year-old Smith, who is co-host of "The Show with No Name" on 103.7 The Buzz, was charged with a DWI, leaving the scene, possession of a controlled substance and failure to stop.

According to an arrest report by the Pulaski County sheriff's office, an Arkansas State Police officer was dispatched to a hit and run on Interstate 430 and Colonel Glenn around 2 p.m. Thursday in which a driver had crossed the median. The officer caught up with the driver of the Dodge Durango at Interstate 630 and Fair Park.

The report said the driver, identified as Smith, appeared drunk and admitted to drinking two pints of liquor and taking a Xanax.

He refused to take a breathalzyer test, the report said.

His bond was set at $500.

The accident comes months after Smith collapsed on air while on location at a Sherwood car dealership.

On Sept. 24, listeners to 103.7 The Buzz heard a crash and someone say "Call 911" before the show cut to commercial.

Smith apparently suffered a seizure and remained in the hospital for a month.

“After being a rock ‘n’ roll man and a party boy for many years, I decided to quit drinking, and eight days later I woke up in the hospital,” he later told Paper Trails in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

He said at the time he was seeking help for his addiction.

This original article incorrectly referred to the drug Xanax as Zanax, as it appeared on the arrest report.
