Meanwhile, Your Mama’s former neighbor, Downtown Deli, in the Tower Building, 323 Center St., Little Rock, has apparently closed; the telephone number, (501) 372-3696, hasn’t been disconnected, but nobody answers, and the website, www.downtowndeli.org, turned up absolutely blank pages on three Internet browsers.

“Sad to say, it is true,” says Scott Sajovitz, one of the managing partners. “It just wasn’t profitable any longer. Everything is more expensive now and the margins are very slim. You just have to know when to move on.”

However, John Lynch, our courthouse reporter, sent us a web link: http://tinyurl.com/8983jzv, which suggests that the establishment is the defendant in six cases for apparent nonpayment of state, city and county taxes, some dating back more than a year.
