PAPER TRAILS

The news? Chelsea is covering it.

— CHELSEA CLINTON, GIRL REPORTER? That’s right, NBC News has hired the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and current Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, reports The Associated Press.

Chelsea, 31, will work on projects for NBC Nightly News and Brian Williams’ newsmagazine, Rock Center.

Chelsea also will report for the Making a Difference series, which features generally positive stories about individuals and companies. NBC News currently has another former first daughter on staff — Jenna Bush Hager, who works on the Today show.

CONTAINING THE MEDIA:

It’s interesting to note this in a recent e-mail from Sara Jaeger-Stacy of Blue Water Communications, which recently handled the grand opening of the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville.

“Please note — it will be the ongoing policy of Crystal Bridges that all media must be escorted when in the galleries.”

Exactly what do they fear an uncorralled journalist might do?

“This type of policy is quite common for museums,” says Jaeger-Stacy. “All our museum clients have the same policy for media. The reasoning behind it is to both protect the works of art — particularly when TV and large camera equipment are present — and to provide the media representative with someone to field questions, and coordinate interviews and images, if necessary.”

SAME OLD SAME OLD:

It’s not really news that Michelle Duggar, 45, is expecting her 20th child in April. She and husband, Jim Bob, recently appeared with their clan on NBC’s Today show to break the news.

The fifth season finale of their TLC reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, aired the same day the Duggars announced they were again expecting — surely no coincidence. Following that, last Sunday TLC aired another special, Duggars’ World Tour: Scotland and Ireland. Trips abroad — just one of the perks of trading in your family’s sense of normalcy and privacy by having cameras and crews follow your daily life.

The real news? This is the longest stretch Michelle has had between babies in a while. Her youngest, Josie, was born prematurely in September 2009 as a result of complications from the pregnancy. Josie had health complications after her birth.

STARRY-EYED: Disney TV star Tiffany Thornton and fiance Christopher Carney tied the knot at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs on Nov. 12. She played Tawni Hart in Sonny with a Chance and is the same character in another series, So Random! He is a court reporter from Hot Springs (where his mother Ruth is mayor).

In December 2009, Thornton, 25, of College Station, Texas, became engaged to Carney, then her boyfriend of one year. Teen star Demi Lovato served as one of Thornton’s eight bridesmaids.
