Razorback teammates honor deceased teammate

— Arkansas tight end Austin Tate honored late teammate Garrett Uekman by switching his jersey number from 87 to 88, while members of the coaching staff wore black ribbons with the No. 88 on their shirts for the No. 3 Razorbacks' game against No. 1 LSU on Friday.

The 19-year-old Uekman, a redshirt freshman, died last Sunday and a coroner has determined that his death was caused by a previously undetected heart condition.

Shortly before the LSU band played the national anthem, fans in Tiger Stadium observed a moment of silence in Uekman's honor.

LSU band announcer Patrick Wright said that while Arkansas and LSU compete on the scoreboard, the communities surrounding both schools were in mourning together for the death of a young man that came much too soon.
