HAPPY BIRTHDAY

5 guys toast 50 years as one

— A who’s-who of Arkansans descended on the Statehouse Convention Center for the 50th birthday of the Cranford Johnson Robinson and Woods advertising agency Oct. 14.

The guest list included Gov. Mike Beebe and his wife, Ginger, Betty and former Gov. Jim Guy Tucker, Betty and former Sen. Dale Bumpers, Gert and Wesley Clark and a host of other politicians, business leaders and media personalities.

CJRW’s namesakes - Wayne Cranford, Jim Johnson, Ron Robinson, Shelby Woods and Wayne Woods - were joined at the party by members of their family. CJRW employees from Little Rock and Fayetteville also attended.

The ballroom at the convention center was turned into a lounge-type space with couches and coffee tables. Overhead, a collection of chandeliers provided a romantic ambience.

An emotional moment of the evening came when Wayland Holyfield performed his trademark song, “Arkansas, You Run Deep In Me.” It was named Arkansas’ official state song in 1987.
