LITTLE ROCK — A Sherwood man was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon on U.S. 67/167, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality report.
Michael Runnells, 35, of Sherwood was driving north on the highway in Jacksonville about 5:31 p.m. when the brakes on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle locked up.The report said the vehicle swerved and Runnells laid the motorcycle down. The motorcycle struck a Dodge pickup also traveling north and Runnells “struck the pavement causing major head trauma.”
Runnells was killed in the crash, the report said.
The driver of the pickup, Steven Hawley, 30, of Beebe was not injured.
