Fundraiser honors Coleman dairy family as the cream of the crop

— The Coleman family and its patriarch, W.C. “Buddy” Coleman, were honored at SpectacUALR Evening, a benefit for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Trojan athletics. The event was held Oct. 13 in the university’s Jack Stephens Center.

Libations, hors d’oeuvres and silent auction items awaited guests. The program, with Ray Tucker as master of ceremonies, featured a welcome from UALR Athletic Director Chris Peterson; recognition of the school’s student athletes; a presentation by Peterson to the Coleman family; and a live auction by KTHV-TV news anchor Craig O’Neill. Music was provided by the UALR Jazz Ensemble.

The Colemans presented UALR with 10 acres of what was part of their dairy farm. The donation paved the way for development of the UALR Recreation and Sports Complex.
