Suspect in custody in NLR homicide

— Police say a suspect is in custody in the fatal shooting of a woman early Wednesday in North Little Rock.

Authorities have not identified the victim and the suspect's name has not been released. He is reportedly being questioned by detectives and has not been charged.

According to a North Little Rock Police Department news release, officers discovered an apparent crime scene inside and at the back of 1900 W. 16th St. A woman's body was then discovered on River Road during a search of the area.

Police say a handgun believed to be the murder weapon was also recovered.

A 911 caller reported the homicide at the residence around 1:30 a.m. and said the suspect was driving a green pickup truck, police said. Officers spotted a vehicle matching that description on Pike Avenue and later stopped it in Little Rock. Two occupants were detained.
