— 30-year-old jailed

in LR bank heist

Little Rock police arrested a man Wednesday morning in the Oct. 20 robbery of the Simmons First National Bank branch on Merrill Drive.

Police said evidence left at the scene led them to seek Jonathan Fox, 30, of 2424 Pratt Road as a suspect. Officers arrested Fox at his residence about 10 a.m. Wednesday, charging him with aggravated robbery and theft of property.

About 2:15 p.m. Oct. 20, police said, a white man entered the Simmons branch at 1717 Merrill Drive and announced he was robbing the bank. The man did not display a gun but implied he had one.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a blue Chevrolet Impala.

Police did not specify what evidence was left at the bank.

Fox was being held Wednesday night at the Pulaski County jail. Bail had not been set.

of Big Red store

A Little Rock man faces charges of aggravated robbery and theft of property after police say he was one oftwo men who robbed a Big Red convenience store Saturday morning.

Warrants were obtained for Timothy Newburn, 23, of 8421 Calleghan Road and he was arrested at his home about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

About 10:45 a.m. Saturday, two men entered the store at 925 S. Fair Park Blvd., presented a note to the cashier androbbed the store at gunpoint, police said. The men then fled with an undetermined amount of money.

Newburn became a suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest Wednesday.

Newburn was being held Wednesday night at the Pulaski County jail. Bail had not been set.
