Gallery Exhibition BATESVILLE - An art exhibit featuring works by Margaret LeJeune and Dustyn Bork, assistant professors of art at Lyon College, will be on display through Nov. 4 at the Kresge Gallery at Lyon College.

TODAY Painting Workshop BATESVILLE - Karen Kurka Jensen will provide a Brush Painting workshop from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Batesville Area Arts Council Art Gallery on Main. FRIDAY Pancake Supper HEBER SPRINGS - The Rotary Club of Heber Springs will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake supper from 5-7 p.m. at the Heber Springs High School Cafeteria. The cost of the supper is $6, and children under 5 may eat free. Proceeds will support scholarships.

Production of Dracula FAIRFIELD BAY - Stas Productions will present Dracula at 7 p.m. at the Fairfield Bay Library. Tickets are $10, and the production is a benefit for the Fairfield Bay Story Fest. For more information, call (501) 884-4930.

Purse and Jewelry Sale Fundraiser JACKSONVILLE - The North Metro Medical Center Auxiliary will hold a purse and jewelry sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the cafeteria at the medical center. The sale will be conductedby Gold Rush Jewelry, and all proceeds will go for the purchase of equipment needed for the hospital. History of Murder Trials NEWPORT - Join a park interpreter from 6-6:30 p.m. at the Jacksonport State Park campground to dig into the history of one of the murder trials in Jacksonport. The Jacksonport Courthouse was in operation for only 20 years as a place of justice. During that time period, two men were hung for the crime of murder.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Black Powder Shootout HEBER SPRINGS - The Single Action Shooting Society will present Mayhem on the Mountain, the Arkansas State Black Powder Shootout. The event will begin at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday at the Outlaw Camp in Heber Springs. The match fee is $40 per shooter and $10 for buckaroos, and that includes all side matches and a Friday-evening cookout and social. Murder Mystery CABOT - Seats are still available for Cabot Community Theatre’s production of the interactive murder mystery Showdown. SATURDAY Victorian Dutch-Oven Workshop POWHATAN - A Victorian Dutch-oven workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will learn several recipes from the Victorian dinner table, then leave with a Dutch-oven accessory kit, a recipe booklet and know-how of 19th-century cooking. A $35 registration fee includes all materials.

Ghosts and Goblins Bash MCCRORY - The Ken Theatre, at 102 E. Second St., will hold its third annual Ghosts and Goblins Bash Fundraiser from 7-11 p.m. There will be a costume contest, music, food, and live and silent auctions. Admission is $15 per person or $25 per couple. Tickets may bepurchased at the Bank of McCrory, The Bank of Augusta, the Hair Hut and McCrory Flower Shop. Attendees must be 21 or older. Becoming a Real Soldier NEWPORT - Becoming a Real Soldier will be held from 3:30-4 p.m. at the Jacksonport State Park picnic area. Participants will learn how and why Confederate soldiers’ views of war changed during the Civil War. Children will have an opportunity to dress up in a soldier’s uniform and equipment.

Arkansas Wildlife: Owls NEWPORT - A park interpreter will offer an Arkansas Wildlife seminar on owls from 6-6:30 p.m. at the Jacksonport State Park campground. Participants will learn about the four species of owls in Arkansas and their special adaptations, as well as hear the owls’ unique calls.

SUNDAY Outdoor Movie BATESVILLE - The Batesville Area Arts Council will show an outdoor movie at 7 p.m. Hocus Pocus will be shown at Couch Garden on the Lyon College campus just behind Brown Chapel.

Fall Carnival CABOT - Christ Church of Cabot will hold its annual Fall Carnival from 3-6 p.m. at thechurch’s new location, 100 Gateway Drive.
