Planned lane closures related to work on Highway 62/180 (Martin Luther King Boulevard) and frontage roads (Shiloh Drive and Futrall Drive) in the area of the I-540 interchange in Fayetteville.
Lane closures are planned Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 through Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 and from Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 through Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, to allow work related to placement of the final surfacing and pavement markings on the roadway.
The work necessitating the lane closure is part of a project for short-term improvements at the I-540/Highway 62/180 (Exit 62) interchange. The project includes radii improvements to the I-540 on and off ramps, radii improvements to Shiloh Drive (west frontage road) and Futrall Drive (east frontage road) and the relocation of the northbound on ramp onto I-540.
In July 2010, the Arkansas State Highway Commission awarded a contract, in the amount of $4 million, to Sweetser Construction, Inc. of Fayetteville for the project.
