Pine Bluff doesn’t punt, just scores

— Pine Bluff scored eight touchdowns on nine possessions to dominate host Little Rock McClellan, winning 55-6 Friday night.

The Zebras (6-3, 5-1 6ASouth) never punted, turning the ball over late in the fourth quarter.

McClellan (1-8, 0-6) had Pine Bluff on its heels early, using a no-huddle offense to drive 76 yards in nine plays. Akee Johnson and Cheddrick Dixon accounted for all of those yards on the ground, and Dixon ran for a touchdown from a yard out. The drive came after Pine Bluff took a 7-0 lead with a 28-yard touchdown run by Walter Ashley.

The Zebras started their next possession on the Mc-Clellan 24 and needed only one play to score as Jordan Humphrey ran in for a 14-6 lead.

After stopping the Lions again, Pine Bluff finally took to the air as Humphrey found Ashley over the middle for a 26-yard touchdown pass and a 28-6 lead. Less than two minutes later, Pine Bluff added to its lead as Dabner raced around the left end for a 35-yard touchdown run.

McClellan was led by Johnson, who rushed for 111 yardson 17 carries. Dixon rushed for 106 yards on 20 carries.

LAKE HAMILTON 47, TEXARKANA 13

PEARCY - Lake Hamilton (8-1, 6-0) wrapped up at least a share of the 6ASouth Conference championship, which has resulted in a state championship for the past five seasons, with a victory over Texarkana (3-6, 3-3).

The Wolves built a 41-6 lead by halftime. Levi Runyan completed 19 of 24 passes for 309 yards in the first half.

Dalton Daniels caught 9 passes for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns.

SHERIDAN 42, LR FAIR 16

SHERIDAN - Sheridan (5-4, 3-3) led 42-0 at halftime and coasted to a 6A-South victory over Little Rock Fair (0-9, 0-6).

Dalton Seamon’s scored first-quarter touchdowns on runs of 49 and 34 yards and Dylan Flores threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Nick Ware as Sheridanbuilt a 21-0 lead.

Sheridan add three touchdowns in the second quarter on a 1-yard run by Flores, a 50-yard pass from Flores to Josh Miller and a 45-yard run by Devin Danner.

Fair scored in the third quarter on an 8-yard run by Damariaus Johnson and a 65-yard reception by Brendon Brewer.

EL DORADO 48, BENTON 7

BENTON - El Dorado (8-1, 5-1 6ASouth) had 473 yards of total offense while holding Benton (2-8, 1-5) to 185, including 25 yards rushing on 30 attempts, to earn the victory.

Lucas Reed completed 13 of 16 passes for 224 yards. Wendell Thompson caught 7 passes for 152 yards and Marque Burris rushed for 124 yards and 4 touchdowns for El Dorado.

Terek Beaugard completed a 16-yard touchdown pass to Desmond Mauldine on fourth-and-4 with 5:40 left in the second quarter for Benton’s only touchdown.
