Greenbrier Lady Panthers

Conference: 5A West

Coach: Toby McCammon

Assistant coach: David Murray

2009-2010 record: 14-15

Returning starters: Kaylie Madden, Ali Rowden, Aundrea Hardin.

How will you match/exceed/fall short of your success from last year: McCammon said his team’s goals this year are to be competitive and come together as a team.

Strengths of the team: McCammon couldn’t name any strengths. “I've only had three practices so far,” he said earlier this month. “I'm still figuring out what our strengths are.”

Weaknesses of the team: Greenbrier lost most of its strongest players last year, McCammon said. “We are a very young team, and we’re going to be very inexperienced this season,” he said.

Games to watch: “I'm not sure yet,” McCammon said. “I'm looking forward to all of them.”

In a nutshell: “It's a very good summary to say that we are very young and inexperienced,” McCammon said. “We lost a kid last year that played point guard and did almost all of our scoring.”

It will be important for the team to come together this year, McCammon pointed out. Since there are a lot of freshmen, sophomores and new faces, how the Panthers play this year will determine their success for years to come. In his first year of coaching, McCammon said he will have a much better idea of what kind of shape the program is in come January.
